You can think of us as “su casa y su familia.”

Our parish is more than 100 years old and has been the heart of the Barrio for generations. Thousands of people from all over San Diego have a profound connection to OLG because it remains a beacon of hope and resilience in the community. It was the church where Mexican families gathered. It was an organizing force during the culture wars and a grounding presence when the neighborhoods were ravaged by industrialization and the construction of I-5.

Today, the COVID pandemic has gravely affected the community. Yet, many people have helped their neighbors who have fallen on hard times. As she has from the beginning, Our Lady continues to embrace and protect her beloved people.

We will continue to build our community with faith, hope and love; and invite you to be part of it! As you browse through these pages, take time to reflect and pray on how God might be asking you to be involved. All that is needed is a genuine desire…
